FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
PARTNERING WITH YOU IN WHOLE BODY HEALTH.
WHY REFER TO HEALTH ELEVATED?
A good pelvic health provider is someone who does more than just prescribing kegels or performing internal exams, they use a holistic approach with a focus on patient centered care.
Here’s why referring to us makes a difference for your patients:
Holistic Patient-Centered Care: Beyond standard protocols, we employ a comprehensive approach. While kegels and internal exams have their place, our holistic approach ensures that every aspect of the patient’s well-being is considered.
Specialized Expertise: We specialize exclusively in pelvic health, ensuring that your patients receive care from therapists with deep expertise in this niche. Unlike other clinics where practitioners may juggle a multitude of conditions, our singular focus ensures unparalleled attention to the intricacies of pelvic health.
And here’s why referring to patients to Health Elevated makes a difference for YOU
Streamlined Patient Care: Our holistic and patient-centered approach ensures that your patients receive comprehensive care, reducing the chances of repeated consultations for unresolved issues. This leads to higher patient satisfaction and trust in your referrals.
Clearer Diagnostics: Pelvic Floor Dysfunction can often be a hidden cause behind symptoms mistaken for other conditions. By collaborating with us, you gain clarity on specific pelvic health issues, enabling more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in your own practice.
Enhanced Patient Outcomes: As you receive feedback from patients about the tangible benefits of our specialized care, you’ll notice a positive impact on your patient outcomes, which in turn strengthens your practice’s reputation.
WHO YOU SHOULD REFER
Pelvic Floor dysfunction can impact the whole person and can often mimic symptoms such as UTIs or be a driver for chronic low back pain in women.
Consider your patient who has frequent UTIs, vaginal dryness and painful intercourse. You might be concerned that they are constantly requesting antibiotics but the cultures are always negative. Think of the Mom of three who says her back hurts constantly, and she is worried she has abdominal separation after the birth of her third child. She has tried traditional PT in the past but this has only helped a little or in some cases made symptoms worse. Or consider your male patient who is frustrated that pelvic pain is preventing him from participating in sports he enjoys and lasting relationships… But the urologist has passed him back to you because everything was “normal”.
You did all the usual referrals, tests have come back clean, but they still complain that something doesn’t feel right.

Meet Amy
Amy Underwood is Southwest Michigan’s premier Pelvic Health Occupational Therapist.
As the founder of Health Elevated, Amy specializes in pelvic health services for people who are ready to get out of survival mode, trust their body and love their life again.
With over 15 years of experience providing physical rehabilitation services across the globe, Amy has treated a wide range of conditions including stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and orthopedic injuries, and has helped thousands of adults and children of all ages create breakthrough results and outcomes that significantly improved their immediate quality of life, while empowering them with tools to permanently overcome their health challenges.
Amy got her occupational therapy degree from Trinity College in Dublin in 2005, and in 2018 she narrowed her focus to healing pelvic floor issues. Since then has continued to round out her education, understanding and approach to the human body by studying pelvic health with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She is a member of AOTA, and certified by NBCOT. She is also certified with a 200hr yoga teacher training.
Amy is widely regarded by her patients as not just an expert, but also an advocate for helping them regain control, confidence, and comfort in their body. When it comes to dealing with uncomfortable conversations about pelvic health, no topic is too taboo, and she skillfully talks to her patients about long term solutions to non-discussed and frequently dismissed concerns (without bringing in any shame or shoulds!)
Amy’s clients know and love her for her ability to listen deeply, and to look outside of common diagnosis for the root cause, and then help them solve the problem in a way that works for them. She believes that just because something is common does not mean it is normal, or that you should have to live with it for the rest of your life.
She believes that for many pelvic floor issues that have been previously dismissed as normal, there is help and hope. which is why she offers personalized, hands-on and proven treatment plans that focus on helping her patients get to feeling better starting with the first visit.
In her free time, she enjoys having and planning new adventures with her husband, Larry, and their two young children, Charlie and Esme. Past adventures include attending international circus festivals in Australia, enjoying island life on Maui and frequent trips back home to Dublin, Ireland.
Amy is passionate about raising the bar in pelvic health, and she approaches her work by focusing on whole body health and balance, and designs workable treatment plans by placing emphasis on the individual’s entire life and what is important to them.
